Xavier's table has been completed now for almost a month, I guess it's time to show the after photo. I mixed up the colors and went with a bright green base, brown chairs and chalk board paint top. It has become Xaviers favorite place to eat dinner.

Schools in Session
Wow, it doesn't seem like that long ago I was talking about looking for the right Preschool, now here we are in the first of September and Xavier started school. Okay lets be honest he is only going four hours a day five days a week. It's still a big change going from staying home with the nanny to a classroom setting. He is one tired little guy come bedtime.

A weekend at Home
I enjoy when we have few plans and the weekend just happens, that was this weekend. We accomplished projects around the house, took in a concert, football game and spent Sunday morning at the zoo. Xavier even had a chance to cool down at the neighbors pool.

Project: Kids Table
When my grandparents were in town my grandpa brought Xavier a wood table and chair set that he had made. It's actually the same table and chair pattern he made for me when I was a little girl. This weekend we finally had some time to sand and paint the table. Unfortunately, the sanding took longer then expected and I was only able to paint one side. Currently it's all off white, but last night we were talking and I think I might paint the table base (the trees) a bright color and put chalk board paint on the table top. Here are a few pictures of the progress.

Let the Weekend Begin
Living away from your extended family is good and bad. First, the family drama is not at your door step. That also means grandma can't be your on call babysitter. We enjoy living far away, it makes going back a little more special.
Since Xavier was born it seems two weekends a month have been spent visiting family. This weekend we are heading north to see the Martinez/Luna family.

Family in Town
This weekend my grandparents came to town. We celebrated my grandfather's 87th birthday, took Xavier to a parade and spent lots of time sharing family memories.

Vacation Recap
It has been a few weeks now since we returned from our big trip, and people keep asking what was your favorite part. I have a hard time answering, the whole trip was fantastic. I don't know that I can say one part out shinned the rest. I will say my favorite museum was the Musee d' Orsey. The most memorable was walking the streets of Paris with my husband, and of course getting to catch up with friends in London.
I also learned a few things while traveling this time. You really only need to travel with two things a credit card and your iPhone.

A weekend in London
Three days is really not much time to pack in all the cites but these last three days have been a lot of fun. We seen some of the big landmarks, shopped with the locals, had a proper pub roast and most importantly we chilled with our friends. Now it is time to head home and get back to our daily routine.

Au Revoir Paris, London is Calling.
Wow, looking at a map of Paris I'm pretty sure we walked every arrondissement. We seen some interesting artwork, beautiful architecture and lovely gardens. Now it is time to pack our bags and catch our train.

Pastries by the Seine
After a morning of looking at art and architecture. Afternoon pastries sounded like the perfect treat.

Road trip
We just returned from a long weekend back in Idaho. It's nice to go back and enjoy the slow pace of the country. Xavier loved spending time with his grandparents and all their fun toys. The drive wasn't that bad until the last 100 miles when the traffic turned to a slow crawl.

A Fun Surprise
Today I was greeted with this cute little number, a mink stole. Thanks to my husband for always thinking of me. Now this wasn't necessarily an item I was looking for but when presented with a gift you can't say no. To the late J.M.B, your mink will continue to be worn.

City of Lights
One month from today we will be on our way to Paris. I've been dreaming of this trip for a few years now, I still can't believe we are actually booked and ready to leave. Maybe not 100% ready to leave, I still need to finalize the our must see list and route some of our destinations. We will spending six days in Paris and three days in London, all with out our baby. That's right, our first kid free trip. Let's hope we don't spend the entire trip emailing back home.

Mothers Day Weekend
What a great weekend to be out and about...and we did just that. Saturday we went for a drive in the country, beach combing and saw tiny crabs followed with an afternoon margarita. Sunday I was surprised with a basket full of flowers from my cute little guy.

New Sound
I received this cool new speaker for my birthday this year and I'm loving it. If you haven't seen the X-mini you should check it out. It was given to me by a good friend who knows good sound. This cute, very portable little speaker is perfect for your desk or on the go. I enjoy not having the ear buds plugged in.

Shopping in Korea
Last night I had a chance to do a little shopping in the myungdong area. As you can see this is a very popular district. Every international brand you can think of, it's a bit overwhelming.

Almost Home
I'm at the half way mark of this work trip. It has really gone fast and there has been some interesting things along the way. I've experienced a little of the Hong Kong Rugby 7's and now that I'm in Seoul it's the Nuclear Summit. Two very contrasting events.
Saturday Night in Hong Kong, One big party on the street for the Rugby 7's!
Sorry, no photos of the intense security in Seoul for the Nuclear Summit. What happens is when a world leader is passing from the car to the hotel elevator everyone must stop and there is a wall of security guards that usher in and block any view. If you come across them while driving, traffic is stopped until they pass, with a very long police escort. It has made for an interesting first two days in Seoul.

I'm off
Let this business trip begin. I will say it was a little hard to leave this morning. I will miss my family like crazy but the time will fly.

What a Week
Let's see, the week started out with Xavier having a very bad reaction to his last shots. However, this was not confirmed until after a morning of panic. There were a few hours where we thought he could have the contagious 5th disease. I suppose not that big of deal, except I'm leaving for a business trip next week and I couldn't really leave if I was exposed and never had it! By the afternoon we were all breathing a little easier, knowing that he was not contagious and it would go away in 48hours.
It's almost Friday and I have what feels like a million things to do before I leave on Tuesday. Yikes, I better get my list out and start checking things off.
Look for a few posts from the road.

Remodel Progress
Technically this bathroom remodel was to be wrapped up this weekend. With most remodels things take a little longer then anticipated. We ran into a minor set back, bugs! Yes, that's right as my husband was installing the last section of wood planks he noticed bugs. We couldn't tell if it was just the last section of wood that had bugs or if all the wood was infested. Regardless, the wood has been removed and taken to the dump.
The wall may have set back the completion of the project, but he was able to move forward on the plumbing fixtures. The new toilet was installed and the sink is in progress. Notice the barrel from the office, it's our new sink base. As you can see the slate counter still needs installed, but since we have a guest coming next weekend we decided it was better to focus on getting the key pieces working.
